এবারের প্রতিযোগিতার মূল প্রতিপাদ্য “জীবনিরাপত্তা” (Biosecurity towards infection prevention and improved livelihood) অর্থাৎ এমন ডিজাইন তৈরি করতে হবে যেখানে জীবনিরাপত্তাকে গুরুত্ব দেয়া হবে। খামারটি কম খরচে সহজেই তৈরি করা যাবে এবং স্থানীয় পরিবেশ ও বাস্তবতায় হবে যথোপযুক্ত। সামাজিক-সাংস্কৃতিক বিবেচনাতেও হবে সমাদৃত ।

In collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP) and Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) is delighted to announce the launch of “A housing design competition for small-scale farming in Asia” under the theme: Biosecurity towards infection prevention and improved livelihood
The call for the entries is now open for those (individuals or teams) who are interested to submit a housing design for small-scale farming in Asia. Entries must highlight designs reinforcing the implementation of the biosecurity measures for small-scale producers/farmers, but are also cost- efficient, compatible with local conditions and settings, and socio-culturally acceptable overall.
The submission closes at 17:00:00 p.m. (Indochina Time) on 13 November 2020.
Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.
Prizes (1st prize: USD 3,000; 2nd prize: USD 2,000; 3rd prize: USD 1,000)

Eligibility and specifications at a glance:
- 1. Eligibility: The Contest is open to individuals (“Entrants”) or group of individuals who have
reached the age of 18 at the time of entering the Contest.
- 2. Entry specifications: Submissions are expected to be clear schematic design for a small-scale poultry housing concept, which carefully takes into account the specifications relevant to biosecurity requirement
- 3. Submission of entries: Entrants can submit existing design or original works for which they
are the sole creator or have collaborated with others. Please refer to the detail in RULES AND CONDITIONS.
Entry Submission: Please submit the following documents within the deadline: 1. Registration form 2. Design Blueprint
FAVA in collaboration with FAO will select, at its sole discretion, the top three animal housing design received within the deadline based on the following criteria:
- Compliance to basic biosecurity management manual and good animal husbandry practices for poultry (40%)
- Technical quality and clarity of specifications of the schematic design (15%)
- Ease of adaption of the design under local settings Asia (15%)
- Cost efficiency of the design (15%)
- Originality, uniqueness or innovativeness of the design (10%)
- Collaborative nature of the design development process (5%)
The five finalists will be notified by email using the contact details they provided with their entries and will be requested to present their designs during the 2020 WAAW (Virtual) Celebration. The Jury designated by FAVA and FAO, will then select, at its sole discretion, the grand winner based on the criteria set above.
